Aloha,
I am just curious what this means? I noticed references were made to this acronym in various threads. This must be something of the past. Just curios...anyone care to explain? And every now and then I've noticed Angel will threaten that she will pull the whip out for the TDD references usage 😀

Thanks!

Ted Dura Dura, a member who has long since been banned. His older posts that didn't get put in the trash heap are still available under his user profile. https://surveyorconnect.com/members/ted-dura-dura.65/

Think of a Durian fruit as an analogy. Some call it the King of Fruit. It is an aquired taste.
There are those who like them a lot, but there are public places, like some hotels where guests are prohibited from having them and consuming thme in the rooms because the distinctive odor offends many people.

Yea. They smell just like puke and produce the same reflex in those of us who have not 'acquired' a taste for same.

Hi Yswami,

TDD as referenced above was a “Super Surveyor”. His remarkable achievements included, but were not limited to:

Set up a TS in 3 seconds flat.

Find every monument within a 5 mile radius of the project.

Run a 12 mile traverse through mountainous topography in 2 hours flat, with a closure that would cause Mr. McMillan to blush.

😉

Ted never took water breaks. I'll never forget someone posting a link to one of Teds plats. I didn't think it was to bad of a looking plat but of course it got nit picked to death. He actually got upset over that one. HE ALSO ALWAYS POSTED IN ALL CAPS, BECAUSE HE LIKED TO YELL A LOT.

Apart from his excellent training and expertise in the field of surveying, TDD is and never was flavor of the month and was far from being a warm and cuddly visitor to web chit-chat.
He tolerates no one and will tell anyone the hard facts immediately and when crossed will relentlessly invade your world like a nest of yellow jackets.
Mostly he is a man apart from the norm and he does actually know his craft very well.
 to TDD where ever he may roam.....

Earlier in the year I talked with a young man that may have sold him firewood last season. Although the location and name was a direct hit, it couldn't possibly have been OUR Ted. The young man related he was a kind, soft spoken gent and enjoyed talking about his surveying career...and even tipped him.

Couldn't possibly have been our Ted....

I loved Ted. You just had to know how to take him. He did go WAY overboard at times and even threaten people. He was also right about a great many things.

As I recall, he was fond of cats, too. So I suppose he had some endearing qualities.

Which explain him always posting/yelling in all CAPS! I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT!

Also don't forget that all those con-trails in the sky were actually CIA spy planes flying around the continental 48 poisoning the general populace.
Don't forget all those fully automatic weapons he had all over the house.

I've actually spoken to him on the phone a couple of times. He's a completely different person to talk to than to read his posts.
E.
