Hello Brothers-

My Brother and I, along with our Wives, are planning to head out to Portland area in July to drink some wine and eat a ton of food. Never been to the PNW so I plan to grow a beard to try to fit in with the locals, I am 2 weeks in so far... My Brother booked our place(s) at the Allison Inn and Spa (happy wife-happy life). So I reserved a Suburban/Excursion for the week and ordered a Ted Nugent Shirt?ÿ 🙂

Any ideas or suggestions? I plan to drive over to Bend one of the days for some Deschutes Chain Breaker straight form to source. Any other good Breweries in Bend that I must hit up?

As for wine...We plan to visit Erath, Sokol Blosser, Stoller, and Brooks.?ÿ

I know there are lots of y'all from the PDX area on here...

I live about 30 miles from Bend, there are more micro breweries than you could possible visit in a week or more! I don't like beer, so have been to almost none of them except for a dinner meeting once in awhile. I will say if you like beer, there should be plenty of choices. There are a few others from Bend that post here and I think they drink beer, so maybe they will chime in.

The beer and the bookstores are fine, but really - that's an aside. You can get beer and books anywhere.?ÿ The ocean at Cannon Beach. Multnomah Falls. Crowne Point. Rocky Butte. Willamette Falls. The Gorge. Mt. Hood.?ÿ The forest almost anywhere.?ÿ?ÿ

If you go to a winery for the wine you are missing the best part.?ÿ

Take Highway 6 out to Tillamook and get some cheese; see the ocean. You won't regret it...

The beach at Tillamook is mostly rocky, but the light house (which includes a CORS station) is worth the trip.?ÿ

When I first saw this I thought you were asking how to convert a STL file to a PDX file, never heard of them before.

"So I ... ordered a Ted Nugent Shirt"

Keep in mind that PDX is one of the most "progressive" cities in the country and Ted isn't exactly all that popular with such people.?ÿ Maybe get yourself a Bernie button or something...?ÿ?ÿ

VD is right in the heart of the crummiest part of PDX. Homeless central. This is Portland so even the crummy part isn't as bad as other place's crummy parts - your personal safety isn't at risk even after dark - but I'd skip that, personally.?ÿ Besides, I've had the donuts. Meh...

The "City of Books" location of Powell's is the only one that qualifies as a destination. The rest are just nice bookstores.?ÿ?ÿ

I thought the same, LOL?ÿ I was thinking why would someone want to make a stereo lithography file (3D printing, CNC) into an Adobe Acrobat old format file

Exactly.

BTW I would never wear a Bernie Button. Not even to a Halloween Party.?ÿ

Oh, and that Suburban, maybe think about a Prius or a Subaru Outback if y'all want to blend in, preferably with political leaning bumper stickers 🙂
