We have at least 4 "Sonic" drive through restaurants in any given square mile in Oklahoma.

They've got a good greasy burger, fries and any fountain drink you can dream up. I think their stock is doing pretty good, too. Shakes are 1/2 price after 8 pm and that's what took me there a little bit ago.

The old "Order-Matic" illuminated menu has fallen the way and been replaced with a 21st. century LCD display that can flash their specials at you with all the spectacular digital 1024 color amazement you can stand...you can even swipe your plastic cash-card and cheat the fender-lizard out of a tip.

With all these advancements you'd think the audio equipment might have kept up...naaa. They still can't hear the different between "banana" and "vanilla" when I order....:pinch:

my gripe is the young people in these places that mumble below their breath. I can't understand a word they say.

Would you like a OIERAIOFDAKL;FJA;LKDFJ with that?

Huh?

Ya know Dave, I’ve finally figured it out that they do it on purpose. It’s some sort of Testosterone/Estrogen synapse malfunction prevalent during AND after puberty.

Also these guttersnipes talk lower ON PURPOSE just to mess with you and do it more the older you are.

Ahhhhhhh….those wonderful, mysterious, naïve days of youth. (I don’t miss them);-)

Y’all have a great Sunday! B-)

My standard reply to "Would you like *(&*%&%^*(&*% with that?" is "NO! If I had wanted that, I would have ordered it."

Sometimes, I'm more polite and simply say "No."

I recognize that the employee is only doing what management tells them to do, but, I always hope that management overhears my mild protest.

You beat me to that in exactly my own words "Spiritu Bovine".

I had a friend, Hutch, a long time ago (30+ years) that used to mess with people on the other end of the mic.
In his famous mumble he would blurt out "Baby s..t and onions". Of course they would ask him to "repeat that sir". He would then very eloquently repeat "I said a cheseburger with onions, Mam". I'm sitting in the passenger seat absolutely busting a gut laughing. It was all either of is could do to keep a near straight face when we got to the window.

You just can't stay away can you?

Hmmmmm..I'm beginning to think (yes I know that's difficult for men, thank you) that you are as addicted to "Beerleg" as the rest of us! Right? Huh? Right? Or is it just that natural female curiosity? 😉

Have a great time!

ps: lookin good!

Well, it IS my job around here to maintain things, even if I am on an island 2000+ miles away from home. :-$ Plus when I don't, I get all sorts of emails from users telling me that "so and so is calling so and so names!!" etc... o.O

Having a very nice, lazy time here. Just what we needed too! The birds at the beach were eating out of my hand!! I'll see if I can link the video here.

Today we're headed up to the Haleakala sunset with a picnic dinner. :-$

Here's a couple of pics from yesterdays beach sunset.

And one of us clowning around....

LOL No Don, silly. They were not griping about you at all. They were "upset" about the "boobie" pic. :-O

Thanks!! Been nice to get away from it all and relax and enjoy ourselves. Here's a pic of us from today at Kula Lodge. This is now one of my favorite pics of us, ever!! B-)
We went up to Haleakala to watch the sunset. WOW!!!! Amazing!!! 😀

Have you yet realized that you could do it from there, 365, just as well as from Salem?

Haleakala at sunset? What?

My son and I went up Haleakala at 4:00 A.M. to watch sunrise. Then we coasted on bicycles all the way down to a golf club, gorged ourselves on an amzing buffet (ate way too much bacon) and coasted the rest of the way down to Pietown. Went through the pineapple plantation, eucalyptus forest, etc. Laid on the beach the rest of the day... Fantstic! Have never really thought about sunset from up there...

I don't go to Subway because of all the questions.

They've got a picture of the sandwich I want on the wall, but I can't just say "I want that", gotta spell out every single ingredient.
