I feel that way about my Topcon Ps103
I see these things in Facebook Marketplace??$200 for whatever it is, rusty old power tool, etc. my reaction usually is ??you give me $200 and I??ll haul it away for you.?

I'll give you $200 for PS robot and take out your hands. This should relinquish your misery.
All chainsaws work fine when new.?ÿ It's when they get some miles on them and you find out that Poulan, McCulloch, Sears, etc, can't really be fixed.?ÿ Or they're not really worth fixing.
I was gifted a circular saw. The owner of it is an elderly gentleman and he mentioned that it helped build his house. The house was built late 50's. I accepted the gift, but I was scared to actually plug it in and switch it on. Some tools last forever, but electric tools from 60-70 years ago,,,,,,,,think I'll pass on them.
Especially a circular saw.
Sorry, Lee. Can't sell. But if you come by and steal it the insurance company will pay for a new unit. That would work.?ÿ?ÿ
I must admit that the latency issues I had when using it with Survey Pro are not present when using it with Tesla/Magnet. But it is still a very slow turning instrument, it does not track the prism well, and it needs recollimating every few days.?ÿ The combination of slow turning and poor tracking means that local searches for the target take a long time. It would have been a dream instrument c.2000. But in 2013 it was outclassed, and now it is outclassed by a couple generations of newer models of Topcon Robots.?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ
I feel that way about any Topcon that I've had experience with (not since late 80's) particularly the GTS10 (the infamous "Guppy")
Many years ago when the Tar Heel football team was going through a miserable time, there was a story of a guy who left two Tar Heel football tickets on the dashboard of his top-down convertible, hoping that someone would steal them.
When he returned, there were four tickets there.
So, this guy named Joe has an old truck. He goes to the hardware store. Leaves his keys in the truck. Comes back, and finds a little note on his keys, "Nice Try".

I was scared to actually plug it in and switch it on.
Try it on a GFCI outlet, not near anything combustible, so there is little danger.?ÿ It just might work fine.?ÿ They built those old tools to last.
So, I find a fellow surveyors base set up on a hill. I attached my business card, and wrote a note, "Thanks, but I already have my own GPS system".
