This is an example of things I would like to do when I retire

To the closest 7-11.?ÿ ??ÿ
It's a tad under 120 miles from my doorstep to the "Hilltop" package store on the north side of Gainesville, TX. about 3 miles south of the Rio Roxo into enemy territory.
Oklahoma has laws against selling beer with an alcohol content in excess of 3.2.?ÿ I am forced to make this trek regularly so I may enjoy a simple bottle of Miller.
Travelling to Texas can be dangerous to an Okie.?ÿ Although I do my best to blend in, I stick out like a sore thumb.?ÿ My vehicle has no tag on the front bumper.?ÿ Although there are no "OU" football bumper stickers on my truck; there are also NO UT Texas Longhorn stickers.?ÿ I don't have a hitch for a stock trailer on my truck either.?ÿ I try to get in and out of the store and back north of the river before my cover is blown.?ÿ
The most glaring and obvious clue to the locals would be evident if they would only look down at my feet...being an Okie all the horse crap is on the outside of my boots.?ÿ ??ÿ
To the closest 7-11.?ÿ ?ÿ

God bless things were simple; late 70s - early 80s. Old Milwaukee could be found for 10$ +/- per case. Maybe Lone Star, PBR, never Schlitz.
7-11 had a wide variety of beers for the most discriminating tastes. ?ÿ ??ÿ
I'd go 4 hours to Fort Bragg for Old Rasputin but I don't have to, 19 Handles Pub has it on tap and I can stumble home on foot if necessary.

Yes; never drink farther away than you can crawl home...

Now technically Karoly used the word "stumble" in describing his actions getting home.?ÿ I believe that implies the use of his bipedal talents.?ÿ While stumbling may be a noble attempt at retaining dignity; it can become futile and counterproductive.?ÿ At?ÿsome point?ÿmimicking quadrupedal behavior is usually a more efficient use of time and energy, particularly for those of us that carry Irish ancestral DNA.
The last time my wife and I went out for dancing and drinks I thought I was doing real well until someone stepped on my hand...

Redd Foxx said he met his wife in a bar in Cincinnati.?ÿ He said he was drunk, lying on the floor.?ÿ She must have been drunk too because she looked up at him.

Beer, like wine, women, & song, is a matter of [personal] TASTE (or the lack thereof). I read an interview with a famous European Wine Maker (I forget who) back in the 70s, and when asked to "define" a GOOD wine, he said "any?ÿwine that YOU like."
On that note, I'm headed down to the pub for a pint (Guinness).

Moose Drool BABY!
The problem with the worldwide beer tour is that once I got to Belgium, I'd never leave
Apparently the Okies won't be drinking this anytime soom

You can increase your favorite beer's ABV with a little of your favorite bourbon.
I think they make those ultra fortified beer by repeatedly freezing to extract most of the water.?ÿ
Paden - You need to go a little bit farther south and get some Frio 6.0.?ÿ It sounds good when you say it.?ÿ Like man I got a case of Frio 6.o!?ÿ It is cheap too!?ÿ I actually brew my own mixture of beers because I like to watch it ferment.?ÿ If I farted like it ferments woooeeee - stay back 500'.?ÿ My 2 cents 😉

I'm a bourbon guy so I don't guess I would drive very far.
Moose Drool BABY!
While in Egypt a few years back, I attempted to learn how to order a "Moose Drool Beer" in Arabic. Unfortunately, my Egyptian bartender spoke very little English (good Russian though), and my Russian is/was VERY limited. I had to draw a picture of a moose (he had never seen one), and pantomime the "drool."
I ended up learning how to order a "Camel Spit Beer,"

Your a brave man.?ÿ I hope to never be?ÿimbibed while anywhere I would need to know Arabic.
?ÿThese three utterances should get me by while I am?ÿwithin the bounds?ÿof?ÿthis particular contiguous land mass:
"Mas cerveza por favor", "Plus de bi??re s'il vous plait" & "Ayv aduladi utliigai awogilvsgi"

I'll be visiting England and Scotland this summer so I expect to find a decent beer, and perhaps a good whiskey.

I like to classify my beer into "order of importance of conflicting elements".
1. Free (Very important consideration)
2. Cold (Willing to pay for cold if Free is warm)
3. Readily Available (I would rather have Free, Cold, or Cold and Free, but if neither are available will settle for what is)
4. Alcohol Content +6% (A defnite plus, but does not trump any of the above)
