WHERE IS THE OTHER SITE YOU ASK .....
GOOGLE LAND SURVEYORS UNITED- BUT DON'T BLAME ME WHEN YOUR EYES START TO BLEED (ACTUALLY IT LOOKS A BIT TONED DOWN FROM AWHILE BACK).... BTW- THE LAST POST THERE WAS 6/2/15... (TO BE A MEMBER THERE YOU HAVE TO TRY TO CRUSH A PLUMBBOB IN YOUR FIST....)
I actually " followed " Kent just so I'll know as soon as he finally appears.
I can't wait to hear (shudder) what he has to say.

I know Kent only from this forum and an occasional phone conversation; but I'm not holding my breath...Kent's opinions seems to have a cast iron frame. As petty as some things seem to me, others can be inversely convicted.
Remember we're talking about a surveyor that defines the center of a 2' diameter mound of disturbed stones with his monument in the center, then, with an obscure azimuth from some distant mountain peak, will run 3,000 varas, and then determine the old pipe found at the terminus is somehow 0.8' in error. 😉
I don't take myself very serious at times, to a fault. From my perspective taking yourself too serious can be just as damaging. I guess I'm just trying to say Kent might be capable of going to extremes to make a point. I, for one, wish his narrow-minded West Texas butt would at least show up here and say "hey" to the rest of us in the Peanut Gallery.

Fellers, it's all my fault. He was rapidly approaching having the most posts of anyone on this great site. Then he realized by doing so he might hurt my widdle feelings, so he jumped ship rather than potentially injure my psyche. The number of posts can really add up when you respond to yourself ten times in a row before anyone else can get a word in edgewise.
....bitches about layout and presentation- but wont log on to configure layout & presentation......o.O
Kent liked the old outline format. This way he could see which users posted into a thread so he could quickly decide if the thread is worthy of his presence. He thinks this forum style (by far the most prevalent on the internet) is only useful for technical support type questions (e.g. Q: How do I get stronger coffee? A1: Put more grounds in the basket. A2: You could slide the little darkness handle over to the right. A3: Get a French Press and let it steep longer. etc.).

Thought this was somewhat appropriate...
Especially the part about spiting the nose right off of our faces..
Let's see if Matt Harnett's offer of money over in on Buy, Sell & Trade forum gets Kent's attention...
I heard that he was
"all stacked up over LaGuardia and he wasn't coming down for anyone, not even you."
One of my all time favorite movie quotes paraphrased.
Ironic that this seems to be the most popular post and viewed. I also think that if posts about Kent were included in his post tally than no one would be in his league. so to speak.
Miss his GNSS postings and TX boundary quests.
Had contact with him about another matter (did not discuss new forum). It seems that his artistic endeavors are starting to pay off with $$$. Besides prints, he is selling the originals.
The positive thing that I like about this thread is that I finally got to hit the ignore button on a handful of posters. Thanks Wendell

I won't be ignored, Robert.

In all my time here, there has only been one poster that I really never wanted to hear from, and, actually, not even all the time in that rare case: Ben Purvis. I guess my panties aren't as tight as some.:-D
I mean, come on, a handful? Sheesh.

Austin is far from West Texas. 😉

Yeah, I know. I use to have family in West Texas, from Big Spring to Del Rio. Still have a few friends out there. And sometimes Kent's quasi-obstinate attitude reminds me of an esprit de corps that is common to the area....if you get my drift.
Born and raised in Odessa. Just wanted to make sure you didn't mistake him for a native.

I got nothin'.
Well, I did get something but not from Kent. Will Haynes hooked me up with a replacement.
[sarcasm]Robot Kent?[/sarcasm]
