Definitely on watermelon,really enhances the flavor, although my wife yells at me for it.

Grew up using salt every time.

Later found that it was pretty darn good without it.

So, yes and no.

Will apply salt if someone hands me a salt shaker. Otherwise, I'll do without.

Melons: sometimes when my doctor isn't looking.

In the summertime, when I was younger, all us kids had our own salt-shaker. Lunch was when my mother turned us all out into the garden to pick tomatoes. We would gnaw on the other veggies, too.

Tomatoes, onions and apricots were my favorites. Okry was my least favorite raw snack..
