The Plaintiff's attorney has been harassing me about my plan for the 8 years I have been involved in a case. On Friday his opening was that his client was ready to agree with my survey. Then the attorney for my client piped up that he was ready to agree with the most recent rendition of their surveyor's plan because it was better for his client. It was surreal.
Need more info 🙂

One has to remember that an attorneys obligation is not to argue in common sense for what is fair and just. It is to argue for their clients best interest. Sometimes they just argue for whatever their client wants them to argue for. Even when that amounts to polishing a turd.
This is quite different from the Surveyor's and Engineer's obligation, which is to the public.
I was an expert witness in one case where my client was the plaintiff in a trespass issue and the defendants attorney declined to hire their own expert and used my testimony to support their case. The defendant won, but we saw that coming.
Some people just are not satisfied with what they want.
At least your side was winning as they had a plan that offered more than the client had ask.
Hope it doesn't go sideways for you.

Almost all of my forays into the courtroom have been surreal! The truth becomes a moot point when an attorney is involved...
