I got a call this morning from a man who said he was a contractor trying to find a calculator that would work in inches or decimal feet, and had a printout option. I pointed him toward a couple of different survey suppliers, but after thinking about it for a minute, that call sounded very familiar. I think someone called me once before asking the very same thing, and it had me wondering if he really wanted what he claimed to want. I'm thinking it might be a marketing study. Has anyone else ever had this?
No, but I sent someone to the lumbershed one time to buy a board stretcher and a left handed hammer.
How about some quarter inch holes?

No joke, just last week my mechanic told me how he sent someone to Tractor Supply, where the mechanic's brother works, to buy some post holes.
About 1975 my dad quit farming cotton and went to work on a drilling rig. After drilling and coming up dry, he offered the Tool Pusher $500 for the dry hole. When asked what he wanted with it, he said he was gonna cut it up for post holes. If tractor supply is selling them now, I should have some royalty money coming.

In the Air Force you'd send a guy down to Supply to get 100 feet of flight line.
