well, i did it once, about 5 years ago, never changed my name on here.?ÿ might have to this time.
just agreed to take over another small firm from a retiring acquaintance.?ÿ which is to say, i agreed to take over the balance of the office lease and hire all the staff.?ÿ there are some odds and ends here and there, and i'm not buying anything (well, maybe one truck and a phone number) or inheriting any financial situations, but i just instantly tripled my staff.
maybe i can get a few days off this year... that's the point anyways.
More people=more time off.
Must be the new math. JK, JK
Congrats!!!?ÿ
Ha! ?ÿLooking forward to hearing the adventures to come.
The winds of change never come from a predictable direction.
but i just instantly tripled my staff.
maybe i can get a few days off this year.
Ha, ha, ha, you're not serious? ?????ÿ
Nope, you are still flyin' solo.?ÿ You simply have increased those in the passenger seats from zero to two.?ÿ No one else can take the helm while you take a nap.
Liar!?ÿ
JK, Congrats and I hope you do get a chance to relax some now.?ÿ
Days off??ÿ LOL!?ÿ What are they??ÿ I started my department for an Engineering firm 5 years ago, as the first Survey employee.?ÿ I now have 5 crews, dedicated drafters and an Admin staff dedicated to survey alone.?ÿ I don't know what a day off even looks like.?ÿ LOL!?ÿ To tell ya the truth, it really doesn't bother me either, I answer only to the CEO, am very well compensated and enjoy my creating something from nothing thriving successfully.?ÿ I'm doing what I love, have a great staff, staying profitable and am only facing one hurdle, the shortage of qualified Crew Chiefs to hire.?ÿ I'm looking to hire a sixth crew and finding an experienced Chief.?ÿ It's a real struggle, one that I don't mind so much.?ÿ My favorite part of the whole gig is mentoring and sharing close to 4 decades of experiences and methods.?ÿ My best Chief is the one that trained me as a Rookie, old school, and he is my best asset in the field.
