I am the treasurer for a non-profit educational foundation, and need to file a report with the IRS. The process is electronic only, and has been really quite simple in the past. If nothing has changed from last year it takes about 2 minutes to perform the entire process.

?ÿ

This year I cannot log onto the site because it doesn't like my password. it is the same password I have used successfully for the past 11 years (I have it written down because they require it to be very complicated). So I click the button that says "Forgot your password?" even though I have not actually forgotten it. About 1 minute later I receive an email with a new "temporary" password. I copy and paste it and get to the next screen, which informs me that I am being sent a text message with a "Security Code". I enter this and get to an "Edit your User Profile" page. Here I enter my "new" password twice, and am informed that it meets the complicated criteria. It also displays my email address, my Site Phrase (a security item), my Site Image (a security item), and my telephone number. It then asks for "Password Verification", stating "Please enter your current password to verify your security profile update". I pause, thinking, "Wait a minute! The reason I'm here is because you thought I didn't know my password! So I enter my current password, and FAIL. So I re-enter my new password twice again, and enter the "temporary" one they provided a few minutes ago, and FAIL. So I re-enter my new password twice again and enter the new one, and FAIL. I've tried all possible scenarios about 10 times apiece - no success. I then spend about 10 minutes looking for a phone number, and get the standard message that they are experiencing an unusually high number of calls, and that the next person we be available in approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.

?ÿ

I will be looking for something to punch after I finish screaming!!?ÿRant off...?ÿ?ÿ

I have that same experience nearly every time I need to complete a required on-line training course (state govt websites).?ÿ Those days require extra doses of anti-anxiety meds. ??ÿ

Particularly annoying is the fact that they use both 0's (zeros) and small AND capital letter ohs (o and O) ALL in the same password! AND they are in a strange font in which you can't accurately identify what they are...

o,0,O

ARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
