My Friday ritual is an oil change on the work truck (obviously not every week). When I don't have to do that, it's watering the desert plant life in my backyard. Taking care of the flora is a good way to ground after the workweek, especially for us surveyors. We are an increasingly odd bunch.
I collect and restore old gas pressure lanterns and lamps. Often a Friday evening ritual, especially as the days get shorter, is to light a few on my porch. Something cool about finding a 100 year old lantern and bringing it back to life. This one is from 1919.

I have use and care of a couple of off-grid family holiday houses.
We used to use kerosene lanterns like that - Tilley brand here. They were also through the alpine climbing huts. Great when they worked well - atmospheric light good enough to read by.
But solar is SO much easier, especially when arriving in the dark and much less chance of asyphixiation.
I do still have a couple or three hanging around in the garage.
