I sure hope the pay is as astronomical as the cost of living is in Nashville.?ÿ

@stlsurveyor

I am always curious when pay range is not included in a listing.

Can't be that astronomical, but I guess this means I don't really make sh*t.

They could advertise in San Francisco wages.

A salary of $76,000 in Nashville-Davidson, Tennessee should increase to $209,757 in San Francisco, California

Well 76000 per year is ballpark of 38 per hour....I wouldn't even look at this job in Nashville it it wasn't 45 an hour as a crew chief or tech.

PLS in Nashville needs to be at least 175000 a year. Y'all out in San Fran must make at least 250 just to get by.?ÿ

Cost of living in Nashville has definitely gone way up in the past few years.?ÿ That said, its gets way overstated sometimes.?ÿ $94k for a crew chief and $175k for a staff PLS is ridiculous.?ÿ Really, the only thing that is higher than normal is housing.?ÿ We are just in a hot real estate market right now.?ÿ Get outside of Davidson County (which most people do) and you can find reasonably priced real estate.

@justinrains

Perhaps a little high, but I don't think it's ridiculous. Crew chief making 45 an hour can be billed for 135 per hour, especially if he's a one man robot crew. Throw a rodman with him and bill the crew for 210-225 an hour, that's not unheard of. Also, 175 for a PLS isn't unheard of either. I will agree for a staff PLS that is high. I was speaking (thinking) of a more senior role as a PLS.

@stlsurveyor

A top surveying managerial position out here in SF doesn't even pay 250K, but not too far behind.

Of course the Director of Public Works position is now open, and that pays well ($275k+).

When Real Estate people expect rent that high, why do they keep insisting Surveyors charge too much.
