H.E.S. in Original Condition

Here are a few photos from an H.E.S. near Superior, AZ that I had to Survey for a utility easement abandonment.?ÿ I did my research and pulled the original H.E.S. map along with the GLO plat for the area.?ÿ I also investigated the area on Google Earth utilizing the EarthpointTownship App.?ÿ This helped to identify the boundary of the HES and surprisingly the area looked to be untouched by development.?ÿ What a gem we found when we arrived.?ÿ Although it was in pretty rough condition, the house, well house, and cultivated field were all sitting in the same location as they did 106 years ago. We also found 3 of the original stone monuments that bounded the National Forest.

My engineer colleagues don't understand why I get so excited about things like this....lol.?ÿ ?ÿ I'll be searching for the original field notes next.?ÿ 🙂
