The head might have a repurpose use in making a tribrach mount for a 4 wheeler so that you can put a rover on it but otherwise it is junk.
Well, that's kinda my thinking. I also think it's what I'll look like, when I die!

That tribrach he mentioned looks like an adapter plate to mount a Kern theodolite on a standard tripod.
A clever woodworker could reproduce the wooden parts.
If all the parts were there, a good waterproof wood glue, sand it, and paint it. It'd look good. But, I'd not trust that the parts were all there. That is the broken wood parts.
