I'm sure I'm in contention for it after firing an employee that was in Vanderbilt hospital this morning.
Judgment is suspended pending further details.;-)
Probably with some, not all.
jud
lay low at the office, apologize when the time is right.
tommy young, i still think you're ok.
At least it's not the &*#!!:~>?%@ Award.... That one is really devious
Cheers Tommy 😉
Nothing like a good old 1099 contractor to liven up the day
I thought 'John Francis' aka 'SURV69" was on board.
What did he do? That is pretty harsh, five days before Christmas and in the hospital.
You are a good guy Tommy, so I know you didn't fire this person without a darn good reason. No, this will not get you a "$#%Y^@#$% of the year Award" among this crowd.
Having said that, get cross ways of Jana for the wrong reason and being the $#%Y^@#$% of the year might be considered a considerable step up. Y'all enjoy a wonderful holiday season.
Larry P
To put it very short: He worked here for 6 weeks and ran a crew last week for the first time. His crew chief abilities were not up to snuff. He is in the hospital because of a pre-existing condition Vanderbilt is correcting for charity. It wouldn't do anyone any good for me to wait until he was able to come back to work, and then fire him.
Maybe you should at least send Mr. Cratchit a turkey for the holiday.
😉
On the bright side, I guess your looking for a party chief?
Wouldve been funny if you told him Merry Christmas in cookie monster voice as you were leaving.
Too late. I've had that award locked in for a long time. Just ask Mrs. Cow.
Sentimental Hogwash!
If you ain't got the skills, hit the bricks. Chanukah and preexisting medical conditions be damned.
Tommy, its all just part of the job. Don't sweat it.
You could be sued. You better have this documented. Firing someone for medical problems can be bad on you. Even if that's not the reason, it can be alleged, and there you are. I'd hire him back TODAY, eat a little on a few jobs, then FIRE him in the office after DOCUMENTING what is wrong.
You're in a bad place right now my man. You have a little time to fix it, but not much.

I've already documented his incompetance.
The guy can't work for a month. I'm not going to let him come back to work, then fire him after a few days. At least now while he's recovering he can look for a job.
