wrong local date in gps1220 ,it gives date 2001 and icant do post procces cuz it give wrong date .
what wrong ?

Call your Leica rep and he should be able to help you
Have you tried changing the date manually?
It might be the internal battery, but the unit might get the date info from the satellites anyway. That information is contained within the data stream. It just depends on what your instrument does with it.
If it does get the date from the satellites (or if you can change the date manually), then I would guess that the date is being forgotten somewhere between the unit and the memory card. Do you have one of those old PCMIA cards that has a battery in it? If so, replace it with a Compact Flash card with a PCMIA adapter. That might change things.
I only ask about the old PCMIA card because you mention V5.10 firmware, which was the last of the GPS500 firmware in the northern hemisphere. We got V5.11 down under.
I don't know what a GPS1220 is. Are you sure you are not reading the underside of an RX1220 controller?

the gps 1220 has old firmware v5.10 with me 3.011
it measure correct but give me wrong date !!
i have another one 1220 with firmware 5.5 and me 3.055 it measure correct and date okay .
the problem i cant do post proces because each on have differnt date ????

so i cant found firmware with version 5.5 for gps1220?ÿ
and i cant upgrade it becasue maintenance ending in 2007 ????
