It is a corner mark of a property in the vicinity of my survey. While it is called for on a recorded map, there is no note on how small. I was always taught that you should be able to put your finger in a drill hole as a test of adequacy.

And as a test of your ability to get it out again once it gets stuck! Never stick it in beyond the nuckle.
