Wondering what the likelihood of finding a firm in Washington willing to hire me while I reside in Canada. Obviously partially remote work, but a few days a week at the office.

Looking to eventually retire in Canada, but my US wife will need to reside (and work) there for 3 years to get citizenship prior to our retirement.

Licensed WA PLS with 25 years experience.

Thanks.

Back between '93 and '95 I worked in Lynden and Bellingham, Washington while living in Abbotsford, B.C. For part of this time I was working days in Chilliwack, B.C. and nights, weekends, and Canadian Holidays in Lynden. All these places are quite near the border. As long as you are legal the only issue is having a Washington State drivers license - if the work involves driving a company vehicle.  Other than that I can't see why your employer would care where you live.
