Windows 7 Free Download for GRS-1/ RANGER'S etc.
IF needed ? Active x will not work in w/7 pro....

Active Sync works with my XP machine to link to the Ranger. The new "Mobile Device Manager" won't work on my Vista machine.
I quit using them both. I just stick a jump drive in the usb port on the Ranger to upload/download.
I have Windows Mobile Device Center (MDC) running on both a Windows 7 Pro desktop and Netbook. Setting up a device in Trimble Data Transfer Utility, I configure them to use Activesync. Works fine.
I cn also direct connect to the folder structure with MDC.
Not being Nosy, How Much did it cost?

MDC doesn't cost anything. It is a free download from Microsoft.
My guess is that MDC is set up to establish coomunication with any application that calls Activesync.
Works fine for me.
