[sarcasm]What do you expect when you work for Engineers.[/sarcasm]

They see the truck and the expensive equipment and we get to get out of the office. They don't see the steep loose slopes, poison oak, rain, wind, cold, hot, etc etc.

At my last job an Analyst (government speak for paper pusher) was surprised when we told her about the manual labor and carrying equipment to remote places.

At least at the company picnic I was the only one who could ring the bell on the Hi Flier!

I don't think that should be taken as a positive thing as I just heard the other day that there are only five States where one prima donna can legally marry another prima donna

Surveyors are more like the night custodial crew. Nobody is around when they do what they do. Nobody is quite sure what all they do. But, they definitely appreciate it when the paper work is where it is needed when it is needed. (In the restroom stalls)

2 PLS's own the company and spend more time doing engineering than surveying.

Wow!

What respect!

According to the Engineering SUPERvisor here (Traffic engineer).

"Surveying is SO simple a trained monkey can do it"....

Right after announcing to the room that "Engineers UP here (waving
hands wildly).... Surveyors DOWN here!"......

"We DIRECT work! We don't DO work!"

After 9 years of this almost daily......
Being a "Prima Donna" could be refreshing!!! B-)
