Weird thought on client names

It just hit me as I looked at three current job files side by side on my desk. Young, Ball, Shields. In Little League I think the catchers call them cups.

As anyone who has been around here very long knows, I am hooked on names. Saw an obituary today for a woman whose father's first name was Odelia. Bet he was a tough son of a gun.

If you were naming a newborn and were absolutely certain that child would become a land surveyor, what name would you select? Dusty? Schonstedt? Javad? Bob? Stadia? Traverse?

That's okay. We have an accounting company here in town called Johnson Glaze. Let that one sink in for a moment.

A child's name might be Bob, or Rod, or Shawn.

[SARCASM]Reminds me of a head chainman in the 70s that always complained about finding that on the backseat of his car after his grandson came back from a date.[/SARCASM]

A few options:
Gunther.
Miles.

My college prof. said he wanted to name his dog "PDOP", and I always think of that when I think about survey names. Probably not for a child though.

We had two clients a decade ago.
Steve Seymour
Steve Butts
We wanted to get them together to make swimsuits.

My father wanted my brother's middle name to be Traverse. He settled on Travis.

Not to endorse the system but...

I always thought that Metric would make a good name for a boy. Met for short.

Hmmm...

Crandall

Gunter

Clothoida

Versina

(I'd better leave it to my wife for the feminine names)

My last name is Martin, so prior to the birth of our first child (did not know the sex until she was born), while considering names, I suggested the first name of Panther, for the classic trout lure Panther Martin. Genderless, so would work either way, right? Well, never even came close to winning that battle. She recently got married and she laughed when I told her that Panther Greenacre wouldn't have nearly the catchy ring to it.
