Anybody have some recommended websites to research survey records online for Washington State. I have found some records on different county websites but have been told the DNR also records maps.
I haven't been able to find the DNR page for survey research.
I am looking into licensure in WA so looking at some recorded surveys in WA will help me put the various statutes and adminstrative codes a proper perspective.
Thanks all.

It isn't a searchable thing. You call and tell them what property you are working on, they send you the records. For a fee. They do a good job, but there is a turn around time of a few days.
At least that's the way it was last time I did it which was a few years ago. Or you can go to the individual county recorder and do it yourself.
Thanks Mark. I appreciate the response.

The DNR can now set up an account for you, I think it costs 100 bucks a year.
If you are just looking for examples, go to the King County Web Site and you will find all you need.
Click on the START IMAP button and a new window pops up(you may need to change your settings).
You can navigate around the map and find a good area you will want to research in, say expensive waterfront.
Figure out the STR and go to the Recorders Site and search for surveys there.
Click on RECORDS SEARCH and accept the disclaimer then click on maps.
Enter something like Section 25 Range 25 and Township 04 and you might find a survey of Bill Gates property;-)
Good luck and feel free to call me if you have any questions, numbers in my profile.

Clark County (Vancouver) survey records are also on-line.
You guys are making me quite grateful that Maryland has deeds and plats online for free. Deeds in all counties are available on one state site, all county plats on another state site
not that it does me much good with no work to use that wonderful resource....

Many Oregon counties have surveys and plats on line, for free, and a phone call to a title company will get me any deeds I need - also for free. All that plus survey recording.
You can download deeds for free on the King County Recorder Site I linked, but it's kind of tricky.
And all of the recorded surveys, plats, boundary line adjustments, etc.... are free too. Did you have trouble navigating?
It would be nice to have them for the whole state, in one spot.:-)
A while ago, there was a table in the Evergreen Surveyor showing which WA counties had an online research presence. It isn't as helpful as the PLSO online research database for Oregon, but it at least tells you which counties to look for online. Look at page 2-3 here: http://www.lsaw.org/public/ess_2008-4.pdf
I don't know if you've heard this or not, but you really need both the county and DNR research in order to make sure you have it all. Since the DNR is supposed to get copies of everything, and in the past they haven't always had the same rules as the counties for what they would file, I've found that sometimes each has something that the other doesn't.
Also, the DNR online subscription is not very expensive ($200 per year) but they do make you pay to play. Here is the website on how to set it up: http://plso.dnr.wa.gov/appxtender/plsologin/login.aspx
