VA State-Specific Exam results

> Did anyone take the VA State-Specific Exam this April? Anyone receive results yet? You guys licensed in VA, do you remember how long it took to receive results? NCEES has released exam results but VA uses PCS for the state exam and I hear alot of complaining about the time it takes to get results from them. If NCEES can grade FS and PS exams for the whole nation and release them within 35 days, why can't PCS grade and release results for 45 exams? Good luck guys. As I understand it, I think a local fellow has gotten notice that he has passed his LSIT (FS) in the past few days. I would find this to be quite quick.

I got my LS in 2006. I sat at the October test (Friday, Oct. 27, 2006) and I got my results just before Christmas (on or about the 22nd it seems) of 2006. I think that the next year, the October tests didn't get posted until about January of '08 or something like that. The old saying in VA was that "the October test will either make or break your Chrismas..." I guess that was true then, but not so much now.

You most likely will not see the results for another month. I know there was a problem with the Fall testing that delayed the results being known. The results have to get back to the board and then review before final notice can be made.

When I took the Oregon's April exam, it wasn't until July when I found out the results. Hope VA is quicker than that.

Thanks for the info. I figured it would probably be awhile. It seems that the states that use PCS are quite a bit slower at sending out results. When I took the GA exams in October, I knew before I stood up out of my seat that I had passed. Not so much this go around.

You could obsessively look up your name on the department of licensing website for the state in the hopes that they might update their database prior to mailing you a letter. It has become part of my morning routine on the Washington state site. 🙂

That's EXACTLY how I found out that I had passed. I checked every morning about 9am starting about 12/16/06.

I have been checking their website obsessively. My boss asks me every day if I have heard from VA. We had 6 people from our office testing in various states and I am the only one who doesn't have results.

Check when your state board meets. This is why the often three month delay in Okie for the state specific. They know if you passed likely within days but your entire application and test results will have to be approved by the board at their next meeting. I think ours meets quarterly. Plus after their approval then whatever admin stuff has to be done to assign a number and probably a lot of other stuff.

It does suck though. It's like saving up all those cereal boxtops for some toy when you were young then running to the mailbox every day until it arrived.

I found OKIE not too bad. I heard fairly quickly after taking the final test. NCEES administered the state test and I received results within a month. The tests were tough though.

Well, it might could be different now in Okie. Dinosaurs still roamed the earth when I took my test. 🙂
