I have tried quite a few apps for doing my notes on my iPad in the field, and seem to keep coming back to iDraw.
Is anybody else doing this and what app are you useing?
Thanks
Using iPad in the field
Not using the iPad2 in the field here since in the Great White North the environmental conditions we'd use it in would render it disposable very quickly. Pencil and paper always work...LOL.
But if I were to take my iPad into the field, I'd use these two apps that I already own...
'Note Taker HD' for general note taking, sketches, etc and 'PDF Expert' for markup, fillable custom PDF forms, etc.

Thanks for the input. I did check those out, but was looking for more of a user friendly type of cad app to try.

Have you tried the free AutoCAD app? It allows you to draw, but I mostly use it for viewing.
Useing Smartphone (iPad) in the field
Don't have any of those new fangled thingys, but...
One of my laborers was showing me his Droid. I use a handheld GPS to walk into say a section corner, as well as printed maps to show trails and clearings. He showed me the realtime google maps showing your position, it was like having both things togeher! I was thinking interesting, maybe possibly could use a phone for that.
Then my sister showed me her new iPhone, with the speach recognition software. She spoke a sentance, and the text showed up on the screen. Then I was thinking, that may be great for making corner ties. Just speak the compass heading, object and distance, and it would show up on the phone, then you could just download the file and would not have to type it up later.
May have think about a new gadget for next season!
