I'm trying to find a description of the Corps' property at Lake Lewisville, TX. I've found a couple of subdivision plats that mention Tract D-354 but I've searched the county clerk records looking for any transactions but I'm not coming up with anything. I've also called the COE project office but can't get anyone to call me back. Anyone know where I could look to find this tract description?
You probably need to call the real estate branch in the district office (Ft Worth district). Hopefully you find someone there who is willing to help. Also try the survey branch, although most have new names nowadays. The district I live in (and do work for) has all of the real estate maps scanned. They are not geo-referenced, though, and are all in NAD27/NGVD29. In this district all (I think) of their property monuments have state plane coordinates.?ÿ

I second the Ft Worth COE Survey Division.
They have always been very helpful with providing information on the lakes here.Any GPS info they have of here they obtained themselves.
I've found that their original metes and bounds takings are mostly correct in finding their monuments.
They may not match original property boundaries at all.
The "crown" keeps what they have inside their monumented boundaries even when it can be proven they disagree with original.
If the previous suggestions don't pan out, the records might have been forwarded to National Archives.?ÿ Find the branch that records from Ft. Worth would have been sent to and inquire at NARA how to research the records they hold from the Corps or their predecessor agency, the US Engineering Department.

Good luck.
