Hi all,

I have recently been approved to sit for the principles and practices exam in April 2012 in Georgia.
I have gathered a lot of information from the forum. I am concerned about the state specific exams concerning hydrology and the legal aspects. How long are these exams and what is the format? Any help would be greatly appreciated for my preparation.
Thanks,
Bill

State specific is 120 questions in 4 hours and hydrology is 50 questions in 4 hours. Feel free to call me at the office 678-432-7908 or email at [email protected] to discuss the issue.

You may want to visit the SAMSOG website and ask a few questions over there. If you don't have it already, the SAMSOG State Manual is a great resource. Good Luck with the test!

Definitely get the SAMSOG Manual. It has lots of good info in it. I have even used it as a reference manual for other exams.

You will NEED to know how to calculate pipe sizes needed, runoff and everything that is in the GA SAMSOG manual. Also on the law portion you will need to know the riparian rights. Who gets what with avulsion, reliction, navigable, non-navigable and so forth. The state specific portion shouldn't be that hard, but you will need to put some time in on the Hydrology.

Pesonally I think the SAMSOG manual is great, but is lacking in the hydrology arena.

You will need professional knowledge of hydrology.
