I may be uninformed, but I don't think I've ever heard of a 16/7 corner
Any one ever seen something like this? North is to the right, it's on the East Section line between 19 & 20

Draftsman must have misread a handwritten 16th corner as 16/7 corner.?ÿ Or, had a brain fart.
The U.S. Reclamation Service (now U.S. Bureau of Reclamation) used that type of notations in the early 1900's.?ÿ They numbered every 16th corner - external and internal as 16/1 to 16/16.?ÿ This method lasted maybe a decade or so.?ÿ It is in the old surveying instructions put out by Reclamation.
That could well be the explanation, it is of the 1940's vintage and there was quite a bit done here by BOR. I also seem to recall seeing something similar in either Clark or Skelton.
This shows the newer methods
