Hello everyone
I would like someone to give his/her thoughts regarding any of this GNSS systems?
Iå«m trying to purchase one of these, and friends from other countries have suggested me one if this devices. However I dont have too much experience and it would be very helpful to get a second opinion.
Any thoughts guys?
Many thanks!
I use The R10, its best System I have used. I have never see anything negative on the forums other than the price
#1 thing to do nowadays is to determine the software you want to run.
#2 thing is determine the DC you want to run.
Then you can start looking at GPS heads.

Im looking to use the GPS for a cadastral survey, Which one would you recommend?
Perpaps the pros and cons of these equipments?
I currently have a pair of Topcon Hiper HR's for testin, this week.
So far here's is what I have noticed:
Lot's of SV's can see NAVSTAR, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BDS, also L2C and L5
Seeing 3 GALILEO and 2 BDS
Seeing about 5-6 SV's with L5 and about 8 SV's with L2C
Tilt is nice. But instructions say it must re-calibrated every 10å¡ change in temperature, every time to enter a new site, every time removing receiver from a vehicle, etc. Takes about 5 minutes to calibrate, and they suggest using a tripod and tribrach
Battery mount tabs are very week and appear they will fail.
Lot's of lights. Turning off takes some patients, appears at first not working. Takes about 2 minutes to turn off after you press and hold button for 5 seconds.

I think this is true if all the tilt sensors, which is the reason I don't use the tilt feature in my Javad. It's too much of a PITA.
The Leica GS16 is hands down the most reliable and accurate receiver on the market today. I would put it against anything. Its RTK plus and Smartcheck give it a 99.9% reliability. No other manufacture can claim that.
The tilt sensors are a joke on the R10 and Topcon are a joke. I guarantee you will turn them off.
I dont often use the tilt sensor in my javad...
Because... Apparently, ppk does not work from tilt data.
So, you will get shot spread, between ppk, and rtk.
@Jim Frame there is a fast index to plumb that takes about 30 seconds. But, want my ppk and rtk to be synonymous... So, I dont do it.

On the contrary, any manufacturer can claim that.

I approve that message! R10 is Bad A$$. Or Javad-LS. Only two I would consider.

Stay tuned...there will be a side-by side comparison of the R10 and Javad -LS brought to you by two members of this board @mattsib79
It's overdue.
Time to find out!
Nate
I recently did a demonstration for a local surveyor. He is currently running BR6 and BR5 Carlson network rovers. He had used them as base rover in the past but typically uses them as network rovers. He called me in to see if the Javad Triumph LS would perform better. He had taken his BR6 to a site that he couldn't not get a good fix on a couple of stones. We wanted to compare apples to apples so used the LS as a network rover.
I was able to get a fixed solution I was happy with in about 7 minutes time. I suggested he traverse in as a double check for his own assurance. He checked into the stone within 0.03' with the RTK shot.
It makes the mfr's nervous, for the users of equipment, to do their own comparisons.
But, I think its best if we do it.
Nothing else will propel this technology more, than an open comparison.
Being a surveyor, first, this makes me happy. It will tend to propel the profession, "into the light".
