Is anyone here using an R10 and logging data for opus or post processing?
We have an SPS 985 that is the construction version of the R10 but nobody seems to know how to make it start logging data.
Do you start the R10 logging thru Trimble Access? Do you connect to the R10 with a computer to start it logging?
James
I am not familiar with that unit, but if it has memory you probably can use GPS Configurator software to set it to automatically log on power up. At least that is what we use to set the R8 to auto log.
It has memory and we paid the extra fee to get the logging turned on. It's just that nobody knows how to make it start logging. The data collector with it does not have Trimble Access, we are using SCS900 which in my opinion sucks.
We will try your way and see if it works.
Thanks,
James
Since I do not have an answer through actual use of "Access", perhaps I should not reply,
however, I run Trimble Survey Controller with a Model 1 R8, and through the "Survey" menu there is a survey style called "Faststatic" that enables me to log static data until my battery runs out.
Perhaps you have a similar setting under "General Survey" in Access. You might have to check the Settings menu.
Or contact your vendor for assistance.
FWIW Trimble recommends not running the battery out, but monitoring the battery status and shutting down the static file before it shuts down due to no battery.
Sorry...just reread your post and realized you do not have Access.

I assure you any reply is appreciated.
We are not using using Access, The data collector has SCS 900 which uses the same design as the blades and dozers using machine control. I will look in SCS 900 for anything resembling faststatic. I don't think it's in there.

Done tried that. Construction people are not supposed to know anything about opus or post processing. Likewise the vendors for the construction industry don't know much about it either.
Thanks,
James
See page 25. It states that data logging is turned off by default. To turn it on, contact your Trimble dealer.
Sorry it is not any help.
See if this link helps. I recently configured my R8 GNSS to start logging on power up, not using controller, data stored internally. Note the latest version of GPS Configurator has a bug in it and had to revert to next earlier version to do this. On my R8, power button flashes every 3 seconds while logging. Cheers!
Your options might be enabled after configuring through the Winflash utility.
Myself, I wouldn't go there, I would be too sceered to mess up the settings.
I bet that will work.
Right now I'm at home and the job is 300 miles away. I will find out next week if it works the same.
Thanks,
James
As far as I know (and I just looked) there is no antenna model option for the R10 in the OPUS antenna file yet. Trimble has had the absolute antenna calibration testing done and the results have been submitted to IGS. Once accepted by IGS, NGS will accept by default, but NGS, nor Trimble, have been able to put a date on when the R10 antenna will be in OPUS.
Betting it will work. Then just use the Trimble Data Transfer utility to download directly from the receiver. You'll then need to then convert the Trimble .dat file to Rinex for submission to OPUS. Being as there isn't yet a default antennna model for the R10 to select for OPUS , be a good idea to do a test run over something with high quality NGS published crd. values to see how your results compare.
Good luck.
Just checked yesterday....
R10 antenna calibration is now supported online with OPUS !!!
Happy Logging!
