So, on June 3, this 3k program was working fine. Then, that day, unexpectedly, it quit. Wouldn't boot up, nothing. Gave some sill error message. So I contacted my vendor, and got a response from Trimble via my dealer.
I was tasked with deleting a file, if that didn't work, the entire folder, and if that didn't work, uninstalling and reinstalling. Tried the file, the folder and nada. Total uninstall happened (it's the only thing that's worked so far). Now, since you don't get a disc, I found the install files and guess the hell what, it doesn't work either. So, I called my dealer, he's on vacation. Called and emailed the tech guy with my dealer, crickets are still a chirpin. Thank GOD that TGO still works for RTK so that I can still get data in and out of the collector.
What version? I installed 3.0, it would lock up. I then installed 3.01, it locks up. But 2.81 works fine.
I have had a long time issue with the baseline reports, anytime I try to generate one it comes up with #error in all the fields. I can process everything fine on my desktop, but then I have to open the project on my laptop to output the baseline report, which is a critical step for my office processes. I posted about it on the TBC FB page, NADA. I told my dealer about it, NADA. I don't doubt that something is screwed up on my desktop, but I have uninstalled and re-installed several times. It actually worked for a short time in 3.0, but only once or twice, then it went to giving me the #error message in all fields (before it locks up).
Our warranty ran out just before v2.9. Maybe I'll just stick with 2.8. Seems to be working fine...Sorta of.
I feel for ya Kris. I really like, and am used to, Trimble products. Their support has ALWAYS been underwhelming to say the least.
That is unless you are talking to a repair person that works for Trimble.o.O
Turn Norton completely off if you are using it. That might fix problem. One of their updates messed up a lot of software that accesses Internet in background.

Okay, so I finally got a version of 2.5 to install, and then had to walk all of the next versions in until I got to 2.81, where my warranty ran out. Then I had the pleasure of installing what can only be described as, a plethora of additional updates.
However, the rep did call me back and helped me get the original version of 2.5 down.
I did have to apologize to him in an email for my tone and language at one point though. 🙂
All is well now.
Did you type it with your middle finger?

I had to do that a couple months ago when I severed my business relationship with Autodesk.
It happens...
I had to uninstall Avira because after an update on its own started removing startup commands from any program that automatically connected to the internet. There was no option to modify Aviria to exempt any programs from its destructive path or to regain any file that it had zapped.
It cost me Acad 2008 that I cannot reinstall without paying a fee for the codes as I had used up my limit of installs. All the other programs like GNSS and any other program that looked for updates and auto downloads of data had to be reinstalled.
At least Avira was able to removed graciously and did not take a complete rebuild of my operating system.

Not as much as I was frustrated and it was coming out sideways on the only person trying to help. I was wrong and he deserved the apology. Usually, I'm much more professional, especially when I'm frustrated, but got a lot going on right now and the pop off valve came off. 🙂

Agreed. I didn't cuss him or anything like that, but my tone was less than stellar and it kept crashing while I had him on the phone and the expletives came forth like John Francis himself was at the helm.
After past experience with Norton and McAffe I won't allow either one near any computer I own. They both ARE viruses. Both completely use your computer resources and take all your time fighting the programs. It don't surprise me that they would kill the programs to really need to use.
