Hello all,

My company has recently switched from using TDS(Spectra Precision) to Trimble Access using a Trimble S6 Robotic total station. I like the programs functionality. I was wondering if anyone had any hints or tips for using it for topo or stakeout. TIA

For topo surveys I like to put the EDM in Tracking; shots are instantaneous.

Make sure you learn and understand the Search options, some options are better than others depending on conditions. The one thing I always wanted was Snap To Target checked. The GPS search function generally works better in 2D mode, especially in flat terrain. If it's giving you bad results force it to recalculate.

If you don't have an active prism you should get one, Trimble just came out with a new one but the MT1000 is solid as well.
