Can a cws file be added to a data collector so that some custom projections can be added and show up as projection options when defining a project?

I was able to add this file to TBC, but as of yet haven't figured out the correct directory to drop this file in the DC.

Kevin,

I don't know about “*.cws” files per se, but we use LDPs (custom NAD83 Transverse Mercator Projections) ALL THE TIME in Trimble Data Collectors (have for years).

I believe that the actual projection parameters are just entered into the Coordinate System Manager “by hand” (I just supply the parameters, I don't run Trimble gear). I would think that the files (*.cws) SHOULD in “importable,” but I don't do Trimble...

With my Novatel RTK gear (Carlson SurvStar), I just set them up in the Coordinate System FILE (an ASCII text file) in the data collector (DAP PC9500), and then just select them from the RTK Menu as needed.

Sorry, not much help here...
Loyal
