Any suggestions for converting a Topcon .tps file to rinex format for post processing through outside source. OPUS shutdown has me pulling my hair out (and no9t much to spare!)

I believe teqc will convert that. Go to unavco.org and download the program. Very useful utility.

downloaded the TPR2RIN from Topcon and when I try to run it....it opens for a split second and then disappears. Driving me MAD!

Copy a version to of TPS2RIN into a folder that your *.tps files are in then select your *.tps files and drag them onto your TPS2RIN icon and drop them. TPS2RIN will do the rest.

ok...that seemed to work. So...I started out with my BASE.TPS (one file)....and now I have 3 different BASE files after conversion(BASE.13G, BASE.13N and BASE.13O).

Do I send all 3 off to post processing site?

*.13o is the raw observation file. That's the one you want to send. The *.13n is the broadcast ephemeris associated with the TPS file.

send you "O" file...

I don't remember what the "G" file covers, the "N" file is the navigation file, the "O" file (observations?) is the one for processing.
I bow to others if they correct my nomenclature.

I think TPS2RIN separates the GLONASS ephemerides from the GPS and that is what the G file is.???

send your "O" file...

SOJ is correct, the "G" file is the Glonass file.

from the IGS.org site:
4. THE EXCHANGE OF RINEX FILES:

We recommend using the following naming convention for RINEX files:

ssssdddf.yyt

| | | | |
| | | | +-- t: file type:
| | | | O: Observation file
| | | | N: GPS Navigation file
| | | | M: Meteorological data file
| | | | G: GLONASS Navigation file
| | | | L: Future Galileo Navigation file
| | | | H: Geostationary GPS payload nav mess file
| | | | B: Geo SBAS broadcast data file
| | | | (separate documentation)
| | | | C: Clock file (separate documentation)
| | | | S: Summary file (used e.g., by IGS, not a standard!)
| | | |
| | | +--- yy: two-digit year
| | |
| | +----- f: file sequence number/character within day
| | daily file: f = 0
| | hourly files:
| | f = a: 1st hour 00h-01h; f = b: 2nd hour 01h-02h; ...
| | f = x: 24th hour 23h-24h
| |
| +------- ddd: day of the year of first record
|
+----------- ssss: 4-character station name designator

Thanks for all your help. The CSRS site seemed to work fine and solutions seem to agree with another sites (AUSPOS) horizontals locations fairly well.

Would you please send me one or two of your Topcon files?

I'd like to test its conversion using TEQC.

Thanks,
Mark
