It occurred to me that while we often research the section layout historical records and notes, I don't recall ever seeing the data from the layout of the township exterior surveys that they are based on.?ÿ ?ÿI'm in northern Illinois but don't remember seeing them in Florida either.?ÿ ?ÿ
Am I missing something??ÿ ?ÿ

Hopefully you can get this type of record dump from your local BLM office:
Maybe it's not available in Illinois.?ÿ

The FIELD NOTES book that nearly every County I have visited has in their possession has all of the information required.?ÿ Typically, they also have an atlas providing the map of each township with other data, such as trails and existing development shown at the time of the Government survey to supplement the notes.
Only one time have I made a trip to the Kansas Historical Museum which contains the entire compilation of data for the entire State.?ÿ That was a case where I assumed the omission or a specific distance had been accidentally omitted by the person making the handwritten copy of the original.?ÿ The County's copy matched the document maintained by the State.

thanks!?ÿ ?ÿI see that the notes you posted were for a survey that started on May 4, 1902, exactly 67 years before my birth!?ÿ?ÿ
We get the notes directly from the BLM California office.?ÿ There are both Township exteriors and Subdivision of Townships.
