Hello Surveyor Connect community.

I have recently purchased a set of topcon GR5 receivers and Tesla combo for an undergraduate surveying course. I have no problems with initial setup and things are working out well so far.

The only thing I can notice is that when I am setting up my base, I have issues (aka no luck) getting a GREEN "FIXED" box,or even a yellow float. However, it allows me to setup my base, then connect to my rover, where I can easily get FIXED and have no problems roving.
Anyone else have this base setup experience?
Thank you,
Spencer

I'm not familiar with your equipment but when you set up your base it is a single stand alone unit so it will not have a fixed solution.

Yup. The base will always be autonomous in a simple base/rover setup. On our Topcon Hiper V's, the fixed (green), float(yellow), autonomous(red) indicator lights always show red on the base.

Amen or ditto to the two comments above.

The base in such a setup is always either working off the autonomous position it gets from the satellite data or a Geodetic starting position you supply.

In either, or any other case for that matter, the base in such a setup will never have a fixed solution status in the sense that the rover does.

So if you are seeing "Fixed" on the rover, that is as good as it gets.
