We tested out the instrument and it seems that its tracking the RC-4 but unable to take a shot. When you press the button to take/record a shot, it seems to validate or something and the HA/VA/HD measurements are then displayed with a parenthesis and a star like this:?ÿ HA (360-00-00)*. I suspect there may be some sort of setting that this is associated with?
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do you have the instrument set to "External Link" mode?
The QS robot needs to be placed in External Link mode for the controller to operate it through the RC-4 unit.
Yes, we have had the "External Link" on.?ÿ?ÿ

The other thing that occurs to me is that you need to set your Conn Mode as in this image.?ÿ Some of these settings are not intuitive but I believe these work with the QS/RC4R combination and Magnet Field.

The Channel setttings are not important other than that you have?ÿ them the same on the robot as on the RC-4 unit.

We have done extensive testing with the combination above, reported the testing to our equipment dealer, which they then repeated the same issues with a different but same combination of equipment in their shop. This was all reported to Topcon technical support with no solutions offered. What we came up with is that something happens to the bluetooth/wireless connections into the RC4 unit.So in the example above....The RC4 unit is not passing on the angle measurement to the data collector....So all you end up with is a default reading that is probably programmed on somewhere.
The only fix we found was to run a cable from the RC4 unit to the data collector. Our thoughts were the RC4 units communication board needed updated flashing to work with newer technology. So we run our QS with nomads and survey pro. Our PS robots never experience this issue. Another surveyor in town had the same issues with a 9000 robot and FC-5000. He got a blue tooth dongle and his system runs fine now.So everything points to poor topcon support and the rc4 communication system.

Topcon support on issues like this really sucks!!
For example, I have been using an external Bluetooth to UHF Satel Compact-Proof Radio with the Magnet Tools successfully for more nearly a year. Topcon made changes in Magnet Field version 4.3.2 and 4.3.3 that no longer allows this combination to work. I logged the original support tick several months ago, and they have provided no useful replies.
