Careful Wendell, you might end up with one thousand 4 hour videos of GPS equipment measuring positions!:-)
Kind of like watching paint dry!

Good point... it might be a good idea to mention that 1 to 2 minute excerpts would be ideal.
If I were making one, I'd probably just introduce the folks doing the work, show the equipment in action and maybe even a zoomed in shot of the monument.
🙂

Isn't that the premise and or guidelines of Survey America...... 4 hour static sessions starting at 10am pacific time.
Here's were I'll be. Mainly because it's a public park and it will give me some good face time with John Q Public. Unless its pouring down rain with a chance of thunderstorms like """they""" are predicting.

As I type ....
I'm one of a group of 7 GPS crews out locating monuments on the Mason-Dixon line and the MD/WV line - including the tri-state corner.
RISPLS will be participating.
We will occupy the 2000 Census RI Center of Population Disk

TODAY, March 19, is Survey America!
I am up and running on bench mark, SU0766 - P507. There are approximately 15 people occupying benchmarks in our area.

My portal into the social world was busy videoing, snapping picts, geocatching and checking sat constellations. All when I wasn't doing a "what is a surveyor" dog and pony show and or answering questions like, What r ya doing? Are you measuring radiation" Are you checking the shift from the earthquake?, I swear I was in Portland's busiest park during the observation. I didn't mind though. that sort of stuff is right up my alley.
Tomorrow, March 19, is Survey America!
I was at the Triangulation Station on top of Pilot Butte in Bend, OR with Scott Freshwaters, Mike Berry and Gary DeJaranatt.
Lots of questions about polar shift and crustal motion related to the Japan quake.
Two people also asked if we were measuring radiation.
It was a good time though and I hope we are able to educate a few more people about what surveyors do.
Tomorrow, March 19, is Survey America!
I was at S 751 for the observations. It was cold and raining and nobody stopped to ask questions. Can't say I blamed them.
