I just heard from an expert that the best way to avoid ticks bites and Lyme disease is to stay out of the woods and brushy areas. Glad I could help.

feeding the ticks..

Had eight of the little bastards on me yesterday. Only two today (we finished at 3:00 pm)..I don't mind the wood ticks, they're big enough to see AND feel. This year it's those pesky seed ticks. I can't see them until they've staked their claim..aggravating.

Maybe I should poison them from the inside with some 100 proof..

My wife has gotten infected by ticks two different winters in Florida. She is an outdoor person, constantly wanting to be doing yard work. Bulls eye rashes both times and sickness requiring the 30 day antibiotic plan. Now she uses bug spray frequently every time and is apparently doing it right. I have never been hit by a tick. They land on me then take off right away. No bug dope, just different chemistry I guess. I've seen this with mosquitos in the back woods areas where we were hit by a cloud of bugs, all wanting a refill. The locals were going around half naked and the bugs were not visiting them at all. Maybe the bugs already had enough of that DNA.

Garlic....

I heard that when one eats a lot of garlic, the ticks stay away. So do squitos, etc... apparently those little peckerheads don't like the smell of garlic omitting from human skin. 😉
