Dan

the Kids need it to flash on their DC screen (they don't have a field book). They have to put in a password to get beyond it.

> I have been in the business since 1972. Did all my calcs by hand and then came the hand helds with the sub-routines that allowed the kids to push the buttons and get (the right) AN answer ten times faster than I could. That scenario has been the rule ever since.

fixed it for you 😉 . Nothing wrong with calc & computer advancements, as long as the operator knows what the hell they're lookin at.

Do you remember the day's when we carried the Little Booklet with all the Sine/Cosine/Tangent's to compute manually with pencil & real field NOTE'S then compute where to set the pin... Hell I'm old ...

Jerel,

I think John was referring to Mr. Ted Dura...the Yosemite Sam of Surveyors.

yeah I was talking about Ted Dura Dura. He's a regular on here.

He has surveyed all over and hasn't had a drink of water since he was cut from the cord and the nurse cleared his air passage at birth. 😉 You should see his avatar. That pic was taken when he was 9 years old! AND HE WASN'T FLEXING!

Sounds like you surveyed all over but mostly IN WATER. So I figured you as an Aqua TEDD.

Please don't take this any other way than in humor. Sometimes people will take stuff wrong because it's difficult to see the smiles on posters faces and near impossible to hear the tone of voice they are talking in.

Welcome to the board.

TEDD is also a Vietnam vet.

Yeah, don't mind Rankin. He's just a crusty, dusty old Field Artillery Surveyor who happens to have a thing for Britney. He's ugly too....

Same here. Welcome aboard!

Rankin is a good guy.

He's an Iraq Vet not a ____!

I believe an E-7 retired. Pretty sure he retired.

I'm certain he was joking around.
