Well, let me tell you, I appreciate more than words can say everything the vets do and have done for us. We wouldn't have what we have without you.

THANK YOU!

You deserve so much more than that...

> Tell him I said Thank You! Something I never got when I returned HOME!

That was a mistake that we as a country better never let happen again.

I have a couple friends that served in Vietnam. They were activated and also served in Iraq!

It was amazing to me that these guys kept keeping on. I don't know that I would have had the will power to do it again after being treated like you guys were.

He said when he left Vietnam he got back to base, was given his final pay, then taken to the front gate and dropped off. That was it. Had to find his own way home.

He was impressed with his welcome home this time.

I often feel like I experienced the end of an era. When I first started surveying, it was common to set curb stakes using a T-16, a 100' chain and an HP-41CV/CX. It didn't last for too long after I got in the biz, but at least I got a couple years with it. No other type of laying out stakes could ever beat that experience. And we used to crank out thousands of feet of 25' interval curb hubs in curves in a day. It was a competition among the crews back then.

Three person crews, hub bags, 10-pound sledge hammers (swung over head)... man, the new techniques ain't got nothin' on that.

We called my first boss a windmill because he could pound stakes (or 1" iron pipes, for that matter) with a 10-pound sledge in each hand...

Hehehe Jerel you're silly. It wouldn't be the first time someone spelled my name "Angle". And I've been called MUCH worse than Angle. Heck you should hear what Wendell calls me! 😛 But my real name is really Angel. Grandma named me. What she was thinking I'll never know. LOL!!

My $1.00 hat. I love that hat!! I have been wearing it a lot this summer. That pic was taken in Hawaii in Nov 2007. I can't wait to return. :drink:

Sounds like it would fit quite well in my CV.

Right beside my survey module and my IR module. Still leaves me a hole for something else.

SJ

BTW I are 'nother old surveyor, since '67.
