So we hired a seasoned party chief, he found a 2" open ip a few feet from the BCR of a curb return, it fit nothing, in my mind I said "in the 15 years I've been doing this I have never found a pipe set in the middle of a sidewalk, never", that was a conversation I had with another LS, with double my experience, he agreed. So naturally, I field checked the PC's work, sawed off stop sign from what I could tell...No crap a day later I found this on a job I was surveying, and yes it was in the middle of a sidewalk a few feet from a BCR........

It fit well with what was found and had record of, the general area I was in typically is monumented with 7x7 offsets, in this case it was quite strange, most points were dual monumented if you will, at 3 and 6 foot offsets, I adapted. That is one thing I love about our profession, we always have to be on our toes.
