I have a box full of contemporary surveying texts (1990's), 1940's GLO Manuals, The Surveyor's Guide by Dorr; lots of provenance been carried around in a pocket, pocket guides put out by Gurley & Berger, Wild T1 Instructions for Use, couple of Land Survey Description by Wattles 3rd printing 1960, older Surveying Davis & Foote.?ÿ
I have no sentimental attachment to these books, however I would like them to go to someone who would appreciate these, or a worthy cause like a donation to help maintain this website, or fundraiser for furthering some survey program at the college level.
I will not sell on ebay or by the piece, don't have the patience for that kind of stuff.?ÿ
So leave me some ideas.?ÿ I am not posting these to make money, just pass my good fortune along.
?ÿ
Thanks?ÿ
I would certainly be interested. Please PM.
Ditto.

I've maybe 50 pounds of hardbound Survey books from the 20's to early 90's (a few from the 1800s) which I paid dearly for but maybe only a few are worth anything. Also a coupla boxes of the last decades of ACSM journals and a bunch of CGS/GLO/NOAA/ARMY softbound?ÿ technical tomes concerning some pretty tricky stuff like astrolabes, river crossings, precise levelling, barometric levelling, optical triangulation, solar transits, early EDM and early GPS, etc., maybe another 40 pounds.
I guess when I pass they'll go to Fresno, a local library or the dumpster if my executor is lazy.?ÿ Surely not worth perusing by modern surveyors,?ÿ more for historians who already have access to them so it doesn't matter.?ÿ But as an intrigued beginner they filled my life with what a fantastic career surveying could be and I read them all until they were thumbworn, so they served their purpose.
