He was 59, due to retire soon, but didn't make it.
Still has 2 kids at home.
Send some thoughts and prayers their way if you're inclined to-
Thanks
Sorry to hear that. Best wishes to you and your family, and of course Harold's family.
Not a whole lot you can say. Offer what support you can and prayers.
Our technician (been with the company almost 40 years) went in for a "routine" surgery about 3 months ago, after 2 months was loosing weight and not recovering as expected we get call from his wife stating they found cancer in about 3-4 of his vital organs and has 6 weeks to live. Go from expecting him to return any day to this. His is only 57.
Very uncomfortable and sad position to be in, sounds like you are doing the proper things. Condolences to all survivors, that includes you Rankin.

what a shame. Having grown through almost the exact same situation, I can tell you life is never the same. Will be thinking of them for sure.
Be thankful
It could be worse. A friend of mine ran an automotive shop. He had a moderately-functional fellow working for him doing all sorts of odds and ends plus cleanup. One Sunday morning this fellow showed up at his house to tell him he probably wouldn't be in for three days or so. He asked why. The fellow explained that his sister had died. She was the only close family he had as both parents were deceased and there were no other siblings. While thinking of sending flowers and such, the shop owner asked politely, "So, where is she?" The reply was, "Oh, she's still in the front room where I found her this morning when I woke up."
The poor fellow had not thought to contact 911 or a funeral home. But, he knew it was important to let his employer know, in person, that he was going to need to miss work.
My sympathies to Harold and family. Much too young from where I'm standing.
Dang Mark...that sux! Harold was a great guy to work with. Please pass on my condolences to everyone there.
