We set this stone post for a front corner at an historic place being reconstructed. This place was the courthouse in 1800 and is getting a full restoration including the foundation. You can see the concrete forms in the photograph.
The stone post was the last remaining fence post that was found at the site so it seemed apporpriate. Of course there was a huge boulder where we tried to dig and finally needed an excavator to dig the hole and set the stone.
The stone is up about one and one half feet and is set three feet into the ground.
Historic boundaries and conservation efforts.
