I'm not sure what to make of this. The story is about the mysterious moving section line again.

In 1992, LS 9008 (now deceased) filed a survey of the NW quarter of the section and showed ties to the whole section. The only problem is that the NE quarter does not close 90' x 70' more or less. I found the NW Sec.3, the W1/4 corner, and one other corner as described on his survey that all work together. At the SW sec. corner I found a CDOT replacement monument that fits Mr 9008 within reason.

In 1997, J.L. LS 27xxx did some surveying in the area as evidenced by monuments found which would be controlled by the location of this section corner. He has since retired and sold his records to some other surveyor that I am tracking down to try and obtain field notes.

In 2000 SPK (this is my predecessor) did a survey of Section 3 and located some of LS 9008 corners and some of J.L. corners. I have his records and have based my control on his control. In other words I have found three of his random control points which are safely far away from the section line. Some of the J.L. corners are not in the same place as they were when SPK surveyed them and others are gone completely. Somebody, and I have a prime suspect, has been moving and removing property corners.

Mr. Green (LS 164xx) the surveyor whose cap SPK decided to hold, is no longer surveying and I don't know if I will be able to get any survey records from him. I have a call in.

And then we have two local unlicensed guys that did some surveying for the prime suspect. I have a call in but expect no response.
