I have two monuments set purportedly on the state line in 1954. I located the two MP monuments and then the two 1954 monuments. I calculated the intersection points at the two monuments and put them into my drawing and found.?ÿ

The west of the two monuments is 0.04' north of the state line.

The east of the two monuments is 0.003' north of the state line.?ÿ

By my calculations anyway.?ÿ

I guess my work is done once I re-dimple them.?ÿ

I think a rebar and plastic cap online next to the monuments should do the trick.

The earth only shifting 0.04' at your western limits over the past 69 years is phenomenal!?ÿ It just goes to show everyone that our predecessors knew what they were doing and we don't need to correct their work!!!!!

Thanks for sharing.?ÿ?ÿ

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES LET ANY LOCAL POLITICIAN LEARN OF YOUR DISCOVERY.

No need to re-dimple 'em, save yourself a field trip.?ÿ Just call them witness corners on the plat, be sure to show the witness distance.

My work here is done. ?????ÿ

I wouldƒ??ve thought the boundary would be controlled by the monuments and which are without error, so methinks youƒ??ve effectively shifted the boundary of two states and there will be consequences.

Pffft. Check out the common corner of Oklahoma, Missouri, and Kansas.

It truly is somewhat uncommon to be able to stand at a tri-corner as shown above.?ÿ Typically because there are so many States having a river as a boundary.?ÿ For others, it is because some sort of barrier prevents human access directly to the true tri-corner monument.

The Kansas-Oklahoma-Colorado tri-corner is effectively a manhole lid with a design of the States on it (when oriented properly.?ÿ Below the lid is the true monument.

The tri-corner of Kansas-Nebraska-Missouri would be a challenge considering it is somewhere around the center of the Missouri River about a trillion miles from where it starts.
