Not very hard to find. One of the places that I had to go to since I was in the area. I would like to give kudos to the four state's societies and the BLM for their write ups on this monument.

Dang it!

I was so hoping this was going to be a picture from a nude beach. The only things in common with this pic are sand and something round.

That was not the original marker. You need to keep digging!

I remember my grandparents visiting that site on one of their vacations.

My grandpa took a picture of my grandma kneeling on the monument, with her feet in two of the states, and her hands in the other two states.

I hope to be able to travel like they did when I retire.

Cool picture.

I stood on a different monument than that in early 70's was about 10 years old, Need to dig up the picture. Had the four of us kids, one in each state.

I have a picture of my wife at that same spot from July 1987. It was our honeymoon 6 months late. We did the whole Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, tourist bit. Ended up at Platoro for two days before heading home.We couldn't think of anyplace we wanted to go in January. I have no clue where the picture is now but I bet my wife could find it.

Be sure and use a lot of flo-orange paint and flagging so any of us can find it if we come through that way.

It needs about 3 more monuments around it in a pincushion. I'm sure we could find other surveyors that can expertly measure better than they did in 1992 (based solely on the description, of course).

I'm surprised there are no punch marks where the "expert" measurers found the true location to be 0.04' from the cross.

Passed by there somewhere close to my third birthday. Didn't make a huge impression on a little boy.

The True Corner is ......

The true corner is actually the fence post 1.14' N & 0.92 E of the monument.
