One thing to do during the pandemic is to watch out continuously for those who can't handle the whole social distancing concept.

Earlier today I stopped by my mechanic's shop to drop off some money and find out where we were on three projects.?ÿ He's a great guy but he is one of those people who has to invade your personal space regularly.?ÿ Expecting that to be the case I went out of my way to make sure I had some maneuvering room at all times.?ÿ I did a pretty good job until I got in the vehicle to leave.?ÿ He came over and stuck his head through the open window to continue with what he needed to say.?ÿ Short of punching him in the nose, either physically or verbally, it was damned awkward as I dropped it into reverse and started moving.

I am making a point to stay away from another fellow who is even worse about invading personal space.?ÿ It's like he thinks everything he is out to tell you is a secret.?ÿ That's just the way he's built.?ÿ He will never change.

You know it's serious when all of your doctor visits are on Zoom, Facetime, Duo, or whatever. Waiting for a Duo call now.

LSAW sent our Governor a petition, requesting that surveying be exempt from any stay at home order, this was a portion of the response:

?ÿ

Thank you for your inquiry.?ÿ Land surveying as an industry encompasses a wide range of services, some of which are essential and some of which are not.?ÿ To the extent that a surveying job supports an industry or activity that is?ÿreferenced in the "Essential Critical Infrastructure" list or any subsequent Governor-issued guidance, the project is permitted to continue. Consequently, most surveying related to residential or non-essential construction must temporarily pause.?ÿ Kindly consult the appendix to Proclamation 20-25 and Governor Insleeƒ??s memo on construction issued March 25, 2020, the documents can be found?ÿhere.

Looks like Dougie is stuck in the office cleaning up all his loose ends...

?ÿ

PSLS (PA) is trying to get a blanket exemption for surveyors. No word yet. I put in for an exemption, along with 30,000 other companies (no exageration) so it may take a while to get an answer.

Strange times we are in. I had an issue crop up Monday, finally called the doctor at 11am, they said show up at 11:45, I was in and out by 12:15 two little procedures and it was over. There was only one other patient that I could see. This doctor has a waiting list 6 months long, SWMBO is going to be upset when I tell her I got into the doctor that fast cause she couldn't make an appointment.

My next medical visit (with a different doctor) is a 6 month check-up scheduled for the 17th, I imagine they will cancel that one. Maybe they will zoom visit with it.

Any work that doesn't require personal contact or entering other people's office/residence space should be automatically exempt. Give a bureaucrat power and they will apply it with a broad brush.

Construction, subdivision, and residential lot surveying, for instance is often done solo with no need to even talk in person with the client.

One thing hasn't changed. They want the copay up front. They call before the chat and ask for a credit card number. One exception is one of our docs whose connected with a teaching hospital. They bill us.
