I am lately having problems getting a fix solution for stratus (L1) data. Most results in float solutions. I tried the conversion to Rinex using latest Sokkia Planning and processing these in GNSS Solutions.

Sometimes it works sometimes it won't get a fixed vector.

I tried to place another L1 - Locus right next to the Stratus in one of the test data that we did. The Locus was place right next to the Stratus and the data from it returned a fixed vector to another base located less than 100 m away.

Sometimes the stratus would return fixed if it stayed more than 3 hours in the field. Unfortunately I think 3 hours is too long even for an L1 observation. This after the fact that the Locus was able to return a fixed solution. I have several L1/L2 units but I just want to reuse these old L1 again.

Anyone have these problems?

Thanks.

I tried to process Stratus raw data converted to RINEX in Trimble Business Center and hever had a reliable solution, vectors are floating 1-5 meters or so. I was using 5 years old data i think, vay be even older. This is [msg=159417]my post[/msg] about that.

thank you for the link.
when we were using the stratus I remember that the units collected 4 hours of data for eacp point. usually we do not have float solutions for this length of time.
Ionly wondered why the Locus units could get fix solutions when the Stratus could not for same amount of time?
I tried to contact Sokkia Support WITH NO LUCK.
Anyway that was the last Sokkia branded equipment that the company bought since then.

I had trouble with an older version of Spectrum Survey.
That would not fix with 10 hours data.
The Locus units would fix but not the Stratus.

Ed Castellan over at POB Sokkia Forum put me right.
One thing I remember then was to not have Glonass ticked to be processed (Stratus don't have such luxury) and there was something else to do which is very helpful as I don't have the program here.
Maybe post there (in Sokkia Forum)and see what help he can give.

I don't have any problems with a few hours data now. They are great units expect for the way that silly battery door is made.
(Anyone got a spare one 🙂 )
